Perplexity
Perplexity launches an AI agent that runs entirely on your computer
🧒 Discovery
This Perplexity AI works right inside your computer, like a little robot that stays at home instead of going far away on the internet for help, so each task costs nothing extra.
📰 Essential
With Nvidia, Perplexity launched Portable Computer, an AI agent that runs locally on Nvidia hardware users already own, with no per-token cost and data kept on-device by default.
🔬 Expert
By running on Nvidia silicon already sitting on the user's desk instead of in the cloud, Perplexity removes the marginal per-query cost and addresses privacy concerns tied to constantly sending data to remote servers. The launch follows reports that Nvidia is weighing an investment valuing the startup above $30 billion, a signal of vertical integration between chips and AI agents.
