OpenAI
ChatGPT can now write your texts in Apple Messages
🧒 Discovery
You can ask ChatGPT to write your messages for you, right where you already chat with your friends.
📰 Essential
A new Apple Messages integration lets ChatGPT draft and send messages on your behalf, without leaving the messaging app.
🔬 Expert
The plugin runs locally on the device and needs Full Disk Access to read and write in Messages; ChatGPT does not build an index of the history and only reads what it is asked to. OpenAI advises against persistent approval, which removes the last chance to review a message before it goes out. The plugin also works with Codex and ChatGPT Work, and how long data is retained remains unclear.
